When you grow up in the Pheasant Capital of the World and pursue them in the wild across half the continent, pheasant "preserves" fall short. Pen raised and released birds just don't act like real, wild pheasants. Except at SD Pheasant Acres. I don't know how many birds SDPA raises or turns loose and I don't care because they all act like wiley veterans bred and born in a South Dakota briar patch. They run, skulk, sneak, hide and flush like polychromatic explosions of genuine Dakota ringneck excitement. Given the incredible, high-quality habitat at SDPA, I suspect most of its birds are wild born. And their numbers are astounding.

I would like to thank the Monfore's for creating one of, if not, THE BEST pheasant habitat in the nation. Because of them, I have been able to have year after year of the most incredible pheasant hunting experiences that most dream about. We have hunted all over the state and nothing truly compares to what Jim and Barry have developed at SDPA.

South Dakota Pheasant Acres offers a 'World Class' hunting experience...their game bird habitat is the finest I've seen, supporting unbelievable numbers of birds. Dr. James Monfore's decades of hard work has created a very special place to hunt.
